Deduction Types

The Deduction Type form contains a default list of all the available deductions, which can be associated with employees or Deduction Groups.  VisionCore automatically includes an extensive list of pre-defined deductions.  You can add, edit or delete deductions as needed using this form.  For a detailed explanation of all the fields on this form, refer to Adding Deduction Types.

Examples of payroll deductions include union dues, loan repayments, employee-paid insurance, and employee contributions to a pension or 401(k) plan.

Within the Deduction Type form you can select, which taxes will be tax exempt for a specific deduction.  It is also very important to select the appropriate Liability Account ID from the Chart of Accounts for each of the deduction types.
