The Commission tab form displays, in addition to the constant five fields at the top of the forms, the Item No, Description of the item, where it is From (Such as a Sales Rep) and the Total. These fields are read-only. However, these read-only fields may be set in Inventory Items Setup tab or in the Sales Reps form. See: Adding Sales Reps.
The Commission tab also displays the following:
The Commissionable field which enables you to select whether you wish Commission to be recorded.
The Percent field which displays the percent amount of commission you have chosen or may now choose to enter.
Note that the Commission field may be enabled in the Inventory items form Setup tab or in the Sales Rep form, under the Sales Rep tab in the Setup Details area. In this Setup Details area, you may select the type of Commission from the combo box (Gross Sales, Gross Profit, or None). If you chose one of the first two, you may type in the percentage to be earned as commission in the Percent field.
Commission depends on where the Price came from: Customer Special Pricing, Inventory Special Pricing or Customer Pricing.
1.If the price came from Price List
•The system check the Price List commission setup from the Inventory Item > Pricing tab. If there is, then this commission will be used and the system will stop the checking.
•If there is none, the system will check if there is Commission setup in the Inventory Item Setup tab - Special Commission. If there is, then this Commission will be used and the system will stop the checking.
•If there is no commission on Inventory Item Setup tab - Special Commission, the system will check if there is Commission setup in the Sales Rep form. If there is, then use that Commission.
2.If the Price came from Customer Special Pricing, Inventory Special Pricing or Customer Pricing except from Price List, then check if the item is Commissionable.
•If Commissionable checkbox is enabled from Inventory Item Setup tab form, then the system will stop checking and will use the commission where the price came from.
•If there is none, check if there is commission setup in the Inventory Item Setup tab - Special Commission. If there is, then use that Commission and stop the checking.
•If there is no commission on Inventory Item Setup tab - Special Commission, the system will check if there is Commission setup in the Sales Rep form. If there is, then use that Commission.
•If Commissionable is disabled, then no commission will be applied.
