Create New Employee Opening Balance

The Create New Employee Opening Balance form you see is a search form that provides you with convenient options.

 

From the Main Menu, click on Payroll, then the topic Employee Opening Balances.  Now a form appears with the label, "Find Employee Opening Balances."  This is a search form that you may use to find existing opening balances.  Click the New button at the upper left hand corner of the form to open the "Find the Employee for this Paycheck Opening Balance" form.  This is a search form that you may use to find the employee involved in the Opening Balance. Click on the next words, Create New Employee Opening Balances for help on how to use the Create New Employee Opening Balance Find form.  Once you complete the form, you may return to this Adding Employee Opening Balance Help to continue with step number "2." below.  The cursor will be flashing at the top of the Paychecks form in the Employee ID field.

 

General Overview

First, click on the Payroll topic in the Main Menu.  Then click on Employee Opening Balances.  Now a form appears with the label, "Find Employee Opening Balances." This is a search form that you may use to find existing opening balances.  Click the New button at the upper left hand corner of the form to open the "Find the Employee for this Paycheck Opening Balance" form.  This is a search form that you may use to find the employee involved in the Opening Balance. Once you have selected that Employee, all of the appropriate data from that Employee will automatically populate the fields of the Employee Opening Balance form for you.  Now you only have to enter the remaining data to complete the Employee Opening Balance form before taking an Action such as Posting it.

 

When you are Entering a Employee Opening Balance, you may either be Entering a new Employee Opening Balance for a New Employee, or, Entering a new Employee Opening Balance for an Existing Employee.  Both situations are described next.

 

Entering a new Employee Opening Balance with A New Employee

First, click on the Payroll topic in the Main Menu.  Then click on Employee Opening Balances.  Now a form appears with the label, "Find Employee Opening Balances." This is a search form that you may use to find existing opening balances.  Click the New button at the upper left hand corner of the form to open the "Find the Employee for this Paycheck Opening Balance" form.  This is a search form that you may use to find the employee involved in the Opening Balance.  Since this is a New Employee, click on the New button in the upper left hand corner section of the form. You will now be brought to the Employee form to add this new Employee.  See: Adding Employees.  Once you have added the Employee data in the Employee form, you will be able to quickly return to Entering your Employee Opening Balance.

 

Now, all of the appropriate data from that Employee will automatically populate the fields of the Employee Opening Balance form for you.  The next step is the entering of the remaining data to complete the Employee Opening Balance form before taking an Action such as Posting it.  See: Adding Employee Opening Balance.

 

Entering a new Employee Opening Balance with an Existing Employee

First, click on the Payroll topic in the Main Menu.  Then click on Employee Opening Balances.  Now a form appears with the label, "Find Employee Opening Balances." This is a search form that you may use to find existing opening balances.  Click the New button at the upper left hand corner of the form to open the "Find the Employee for this Paycheck Opening Balance" form.  This is a search form that you may use to find the employee involved in the Opening Balance. Once you have selected your Employee, all of the appropriate data from that Employee will automatically populate the fields of the Employee Opening Balance form for you.  The next step is the entering of the remaining data to complete the Employee Opening Balance form before taking an Action such as Posting it.  See: Adding Employee Opening Balance.
