Import, Update or Export
Data
You can use
the included Data Utility to import
your data from almost any source
by mapping the fields to the VisionCore
table you want to import into.
You can also update existing
data or export data from VisionCore
with ease. |

Importing Data
When you first setup VisionCore
there is almost no doubt you'll
want to import some customer, inventory
or other data from your legacy program.
The Data Utility makes this easy
by guiding you through a wizard
based import.
Simply select
the destination table and then select
your source file. You can import
from any text delimited file format
such as CSV, TXT, TAB, XLS, etc. |

Mapping your Fields
The next step is to map the
fields from VisionCore's destination
table to your source file.
You will see a full list of
the VisionCore fields on the left
with a combo box displaying all
your source fields where you can
match them to the related VisionCore
fields.
You can save your
position at any time in the Data
Utility and load it again at a later
time if you wish. |

Preview your Data before
Importing
After
you have finished mapping all your
fields you can click the Preview
button to see how your data will
be imported.
If you need
made a mistake or need to change
something, you can go back and update
the map and preview it until you
get it the way you want. |

Update Existing Data in
VisionCore
In addition
to importing data for the first
time, you might want to mass update
your existing VisionCore data in
the future.
This is very
handy for updating your inventory
pricing or populating an empty field
with default data. The steps to
do this are basically the same as
importing. |

|
|
|
Export Data from VisionCore
In addition to importing and
updating data, you can export existing
VisionCore data to Excel.
Many times this step is used
before updating your data as you
might prefer using Excel to mass
update your data and then use the
Data Utility to update VisionCore
with your changes. |
